India played its first match against South Africa at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first. Very low performance by African batsmen. They managed to score only 226 runs in 50 over game. India’s promising opening batsman Rohit Sharma in an answer scored unbeaten 122 with the help of thirteen 4s and two 6s.

India played its Second match against Australia at Kennington Oval, London. India won the toss and elected to bat first. A very good start by the Indian openers scored hundred runs partnership in the field. Shikhar Dhawan scored 117 runs off 109 balls. India gave a mammoth target of 352 runs in front of Aussies. In the second inning Indian bowlers restricted Australia to 316 runs.

India played its third match against New Zealand at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Match Stopped due to rain abandoned without the toss.
Match-4 IND vs PAK
Most Awaited match of the world Cup
India played its forth match against Pakistan at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. Pakistan won the toss and elected to ball first against India. Again a very good start by the Indian openers and scored more than hundred runs partnership on the field. India gave 336 runs target to the Pakistan team. In the second innings Pakistan just scored 212 runs in 40 over game. Match Stopped due to rain in fortieth over of the game.

Low scoring match always interesting
India played its fifth match against Afghanistan at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. It was a very low scoring match. India won the toss and elected to bat first and managed to score 224 runs. On the other side of the game Afghanistan kept on losing wickets in quick interval of time. Indian bowlers took the responsibility on their shoulders and restricted the opponent in 213 runs. Mohammed Shami took a hat-trick in the final over of the game.
India won by 11 runs.
Match-6 IND vs WI
Dhoni took the responsibility
India played its sixth match against West Indies at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. India won the toss and decided to bat first against West Indies. MS Dhoni scored 56 not out runs helped India reach a fighting total of 268 runs. Again Indian bowlers took the responsibility on their shoulders and restricted the opponent to just 143 runs.
India won by 125 runs.

India played its seventh match against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. England won the toss and decided to bat first and scored a huge total of 337 runs against India. In the second innings of the game Rohit Sharma scored another century but failed to win the game.

India played its eighth match against Bangladesh at Edgbaston, Birmingham. India won the toss and decided to bat first. Again a very good start by the Indian openers and scored 180 runs partnership. Rohit Sharma’s 104 runs helped India reach a huge total of 314 runs. In the second innings of the game Indian bowlers restricted Bangladesh to a total of 286 runs.

India played its ninth match against Sri Lanka at Headingley, Leeds. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 264 runs. In the second innings of the game opening players Rohit Sharma and K.L.Rahul scored 103 and 111 runs respectively and India easily chase the target. After winning this game India topped the Points Table with 15 points.
India won by 7 wickets.
Match-10 IND vs NZ (1st Semi-Final)
Dhoni’s Run Out-End of an Era
India played its first Semi-Final against New Zealand at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. Indian bowler’s performed exceptionally well and restricted New Zealand at the score of 221 runs in 46.1 over. Due to rain match shifted to the Reserve Day and New Zealand managed to Score 239 runs in the first innings of the game.
The target was less yet Indian batting stumbled. India lost 3 wickets in the initial overs of the game this created a pressure on the middle-order. Dhoni’s run out was the turning of the game. The most disheartening moment of the match as when Dhoni was walking away from the Ground after getting runout by Martin Guptil.
Sir Jadeja was the rockstar in the defeat. His swashbuckling innings of 77 runs helped India to decrease the winnings margin of Kiwis.
New Zealand won by 18 runs.
