In addition to the RXE, RXS, and RXZ, there’s a new RXS(O) variant which is only available in Diesel. AWD tech is now more affordable as it’s now available in RXS (O) instead of the top-spec RXZ variant earlier.

Renault has come out with a new Duster which has now got a face job. Despite the new Facelift and additional specs, starting price has remained unchanged, ranging from Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom India).

The new model now has added chrome on the redesigned grille and a slightly different pattern for the hood bulges and the front bumper. For low beam, the headlamps get projectors and get multi-reflectors for high beam. Also, the bulbs have been replaced by LEDs.

On the inside, the top layer of the dashboard has been redesigned. The central console now packs a glossy black finish while the round central AC vents have now been shaped in rectangular units. The topmost glovebox is newly designed, offering cooled storage.

The new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Having four Arkamys-tuned speakers, it now also gets additional tweeters. The steering wheel has also been replaced the one on the upcoming Triber.

All the variants now come with standardized safety features: dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, front seatbelt reminders, and speed alert system, as stricter safety norms will be imposed from July 2019.

However, there are no mechanical changes; it continues to get a pair of 1.5-liter petrol (106PS/142Nm) and diesel engines (85PS/200Nm and 110PS/245Nm). The petrol engine comes with a 5-speed MT and CVT whereas the diesel comes with a 6-speed MT/AMT option.

The new Duster is the only compact SUV to offer an AWD with the 110PS diesel, making it a tough competition to its rivals, the Maruti Suzuki S-cross (Rs 8.86-11.49 lakh) and the Hyundai Creta (Rs 10-15.65 lakh)
