Recently, Election Commission has issued Show cause notice to ‘Zee Tv’ and its group channel ‘&TV’. As per the latest reports, the characters in the respective shows, ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai’ and ‘Tujhse Hai Raabta’, were seen praising government schemes such as Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan, Mudra Loan. Both the channels have been given 24 hours time to give their opinion on the same.
A few days back, there were reports where Congress complained against BJP for violating the moral code of conduct. Congress got offended when particular characters in the respective channels were seen praising the governmental schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the telecast.
The Congress leaders claim that it is a version of paid news. Further, they are also in the process of complaining against Zee Tv’s Marathi channel. ‘Tula Pahate Re’ the Marathi programme was seen violating the norm by promoting Make in India scheme.
According to the opposition party, it is being done deliberately by BJP. Sachin Sawant, the Congress Spokesperson was seen demanding the channels to be suspended for such a violation. the spokesperson of both the channels believes that there was no such intention and it was done purely in public interest. However, they haven’t reverted back to EC’s notice as of now.
The Daily Soap ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par hai’ is a Hindi sitcom which is inspired by 1995’s Shriman Shrimati that aired on Doordarshan from 1994-1999. The show airs on ‘&TV’ stars Aashif Sheikh, Rohitash Gaud, Shubhangi Atre Poorey, and, Saumya Tandon among others. On the other hand, ‘Tujhse Hai Raabta’ is aired on Zee TV which casts Shehban Azim, Reem Shaikh, Poorva Gokhale, and Rajut Dahiya among others.
