Vegetables are rich in proteins and vitamins to make your body healthy and therefore we have come up with a dish which is full of vegetables. We always see fried food as unhealthy food but this recipe will change your view towards fried food. Now fried food can be tasty as well as healthy too.
Healthy Fried Masala idli: with full of vegetables
- 400g semolina(Suji),
- 2 tbsp. mustard seeds,
- 200g curd,
- 3 tbsp. of any vegetable oil,
- ½ tsp. baking soda,
- 1 pc. of Ino,
- Salt accordingly,
- 3tbsp. Garam Masala,
- 1 tsp. turmeric,
- 2 tsp. red chilly powder,
- 1 tsp. asafetida,
- ½ lemon juice,
- 2 chopped hybrid tomatoes,
- ½ medium sized chopped cauliflower,
- 1 chopped onion,
- 1 chopped capsicum,
- baby corns,
- 1 chopped carrot,
- 1 chopped bell pepper,
- You can add any other vegetables you want.
Take semolina in a bowl, add salt and a pinch of red chilly powder to it, add curd and mix it well, now add some water to it to make a smooth and thick paste. Leave aside for 15 minutes.
After that add a half pack of Ino to the paste and mix it well with adding more water to it, microwave it for 15-20 minutes. Check the center of the bowl with a toothpick, if it comes clean then the idli is ready.
Now take a nonstick pan, add ½ tsp. of oil and roast the idli for 1 minute to give it a little crunch.
Take a nonstick pan and add 3 tbsp. of vegetable oil in it. When the oil gets hot, add mustard seed and let them pop a bit. Now add asafetida and onion to it.
When onion gets golden brown, add other vegetables to the pan and salt to it, let them soften a little. Add all the remaining spices to it and let the vegetables leave the oil.
Now cut the idli into small pieces and add them to the vegetables. Mix that well and squeeze half a lemon on it to give a tangy taste. Serve it hot with coconut chutney or any other dip you want.
Semolina is light and easy to digest while vegetables are always great to make a meal healthy. Try this less oily recipe and let us know if you liked it or not.
